Through-racking is a very special kind of racking. In warehouses where through-racking is used, we can find that there are no special aisles for forklifts. So how does a forklift work in through-racking? In addition to the different working method, the structure of through-racking is also very different from the normal racking.
In fact, through racking is sometimes called drive-in racking, mainly because when using this racking, our employees need to drive a forklift into the interior of the racking to work, so they get the name of drive-in racking.
Although this mode of work saves a lot of space in the aisle, there are certain problems, one of which is the high difficulty of operation. If the operation is difficult, there is no way to improve the work efficiency, and the technical level of the staff is also higher, if the technology is not good, there is no way to use this shelf.
The structure of through-racking is also very special, in order to ensure the normal work of forklift, through-racking must be higher than the height of forklift equipment on the first level. Moreover, through-racking can only support the working mode of first-in, last-out, which limits the environment where through-racking is applicable. For example, there is no way to store foodstuffs with through-racking.
Pass-through shelving has gained considerable popularity in the market today, but with the birth of automated shelving, pass-through shelving is also facing great challenges. The limitation of operation mode makes it impossible for this shelf to get advantage in front of the automated shelf. So what direction should the through-racking be developed in the future to continue to have a place in the shelving market is a question to think about.
